Shinhan Bank announced on Jan. 8 that it participated in CES 2023, an international electronics fair, for the first time as a Korean financial company and introduced its own metaverse platform Shinamon on Jan. 5.

In 2022, Shinhan Bank jointly participated in the trade show with a partner company as an AI banker. This year, it set up a booth in the fintech category to introduce its self-built metaverse platform Shinamon to visitors.

Shinamon is a metaverse platform that can be directly linked to the banking system. Shinhan Bank built financial enterprise infrastructure on the cloud to meet regulations applied to Korean financial companies.

In addition, Shinamon has a competitive edge as a metaverse that can link financial data with other platform services owned by the bank. Shinhan Financial Group received a request to participate in CES 2023 as its metaverse platform was recognized for its big growth potential.

“We are glad to introduce Shinamon to the world through participation in CES 2023. Shinamon will evolve into a new metaverse platform that combines marketplaces and banking,” a Shinhan Bank official said. “We will continue to strive to showcase innovative financial services as a leading digital financial company in Korea.”
