Tether your hope to God

We all need hope.

Hope is something that tends to get set off to the side without even realizing it. Disguised or even covered up. Today, even more than ever, hope is needed. So what is hope? Do you know? “Hope” is commonly used to mean a wish : its strength is the strength of the person’s desire.

But in the Bible hope is the confident expectation of what God has promised and its strength is in His faithfulness. We see this in God’s word, Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” ESV.

In life we tend to place our hope in things, situations or people instead of God. Whatever situation you find yourself in right now I ask, where does your “hope” lie?

To find hope, a shift in perspective is needed. Sometimes we need to step back in order to see or find where your hope lies. Once we open ourselves to see where that hope truly is we can then begin to shift or place our hope in God, the faithful one. When you’re ready and willing you will find that you can seek God’s heart more.

Remember to be patient in your waiting. Listen to the wisdom God will provide. Look back at where you have gotten through things in your past by seeing God’s hand in it. Expect the unexpected. Meaning don’t rely on your understanding alone. Jesus gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit to be the guide in this very thing. God has the big picture and your well being at heart.

Tether your hope to God. Expect with confidence what his word says is true and meant for you. Trusting in him to provide. Confess your hope in him. Take hold of your hope and proclaim who it is founded in.

Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” ESV.

My final thoughts for you. Don’t be discouraged by your situation today. Don’t place your trust in the things of this world. Be strong and courageous as he has commanded us. Use that to fuel your mindset and perspective with your situation. If you feel unsure seek Him in all things let the Spirit guide you to His truth. Have “Hope”
