Bolton: Man at end of tether after issue with rodents in Jubilee House

A sixty-eight-year-old man says he is at ‘the end of his tether’ after he says rodents climbed on his windowsill whilst he was watching TV.

Steve Parker of Jubilee House says that he has experienced an issue with the rodents since he moved in last year in June.

He says that he often sees rats and mice and that he has seen some roaming about the flat on numerous occasions and has found mouse droppings on his windowsill.

Steve has several humane traps set up but does not feel as if it is having any impact.

He said: “When I moved in, I could see that the place had issues with mice, and it has been going on for a while now.

“I have seen mice and rats in the flat and a resident caught two mice.

“I spent a lot of money on humane traps and mice and rat repellent.

“It makes me feel unclean and I want to be supported.”

Steve explained that one of his neighbours managed to get rid of them but that they had to pay for a service.

He also said that other residents have also experienced an issue with them, with some residents seeing them in the communal areas.

Bolton at Home have since apologised for the issue that residents have experienced in the flats, despite carrying out work to “try and resolve it”.

“We apologise for the problem remaining, despite a range of work being carried out to try and resolve it.

“Our external pest control partner did a thorough inspection of the building most recently in November, and we’re carrying out their suggested actions to get the situation under control.

“We thank our customers for their patience and will update them as we continue to work on this and monitor progress.”
